I had a kicker L7 in a stealth box and hit hit hard enough for me. Now im not one to just build a huge bass pounding system but it was good for what I used it for.

i got a 15inch sub in a small sealed enclosure. it hits pretty deep and tight. i got it strapped in where my driver's back seat used to be. the plan is that i'm eventually going to fiberglass a small (and portable) enclosure back there.

i always wondered about how well those stealth boxes could be, but since i have a vert, it wouldn't sound like much with the top down.

you say you're used to ported enclosures... the stealth box fits a 10 inch "sub" with half a foot of air. in terms of SPL...i would expect more of a punch in the neck kind of sound rather than a kick in the back...

I had a pair of Kicker 12's in the early 90's in a hatchback and could only muster a 132 dB on the meter...I'm sending twice as much power to a single 10" sub in my stealthbox and it'll hit 134 db and plays nice and deep IMO. I think a 10" sub CAN play very deep, IF you pick the right sub.

I have a 12w6 (version 1) in a stealth box that I built myself and its pretty deep. i wouldnt call it ground pounding, but it blends well with the entire system.

Im not sure that many 10s would play as deep as a good 12, which is my i built my box.

All depends on the sub/amp you get and the stealth box... some boxes are different....

I have had a 10" JLw6 with a JL amp. and even when the gain was turned down it still hit hard. Deep yeah i guess

Same thing with the 10" CVX hits hard as hell for a single 10" most people think I am lying when I tell them it's only a 10"

Factory rear glass makes a difference too.. If it is factory it will have a smooth curve, replacement glass is not as smooth...
