Default Eclipse 6.5s don't fit right?

Any of you guys who replaced your 6.5s have problem fitting them into your car?

The stock speakers aren't round .. so the new speakers don't cover the entire whole and the screwholes couldn't possibly match up

What did you do?

I believe you are trying to fit 6 1/2" speakers into the stock 6 3/4" holes. If the screw holes don't line up on the mounting ring, just drill new ones.

yea i replaced all of my speakers(front components and pillars) both with infinity kappa's. i got lucky cuz the kappa's come with rings that are for exactly this, fitting their 6.5" speaker into an OEM 6.75" space. as long as your speakers attatchment points fit over the metal panels just drill holes if they don't line up. viola, problem solved. might be able to call infinity and ask if they can send you those fitment rings. they're a hell of a lot nicer then tryin to ghetto rig it.
