How to mount monsoon cd changer

Just bought a 2002 collectors edition TA but it did not have the 12 disc monsoon cd changer in the trunk. After buying one off e-bay I want to install and mount it correctly so it looks like it is an original one. Does anyone have pics or directions of this. Thanks in Advance.

When the optional CD changer was factory installed, it had brackets welded to the floor in the cubby area. You can buy those brackets from the dealer if you're good at welding. A simpler option is to put a piece of plywood under the carpet and screw the side brackets through the carpet into the wood. Going through the carpet keeps the brackets from moving and the wood provides ample support. Once installed, you can't tell that there's a piece of wood there so it looks like a factory installation.

I'll try to get you a picture tonight.

My 12 disc is still giving me an E33 error, so its nothing more than dead weight at the moment. If I can't get it "serviced," you can have my hardware if I decide to ditch it.

The cd changer that I got did come with two brackets. One of them has two plastic tips on it, I figured that bracket would hold up against the carpet covering the tail lens.

Part # for the mount bracket is 10276577.

Hey, was just wondering if you had a chance to take the pics of your cd changer?

Totally forgot, sorry.
I'll try to tomorrow, but just shoot me a PM to remind me.

When you take out the driver side rear speaker panel, the CD-changer wire is taped up with that speaker lead. Untape, plug-in, good to go!

I followed the suggestion of placing a piece of wood under the carpet and it worked fantastic!! It looks like factory install!! I <3 LS1Tech :)

Thanks ;) It was still fresh in my mind since I just installed it the other week. I'll hook you up with some pics when I get a chance if someone else doesn't chime in before then.

:funny:
The CD is a dead format, it should be banned.
