Tahoe Stock Head Unit - EQ Issues

Tahoe Stock Head Unit - EQ Issues 2000 Tahoe, stock stereo.
Every time I change a radio station the stock EQ resets itself to "C/W" (country western I assume?) mode on the head unit's equalizer.
It defaults back to "C/W" every time it's turned off/on as well.
Does anybody know of any way for me to set it manually and let it stay that way?
