Default car alarm

so my car alarm is going on randomly, about 30 second after i lock the car, then again every 5 mins or so, ive been jsut leaving the car unlocked so it wont go off, but thats def not what i want to be doing

i disconnected the batt for 60 second and put it back on, and that fixed the problem a day or two...

any ideas? if its a part i need please post cost, where i can get it, and location on the car

THANKS

there's a way you can adjust the alarm's sensitivity in the spare tire well. sounds like some kind of electrical problem to me though. anyways, if you lock the car from the inside before you close the door, the alarm shouldn't be set, i think.

Yeah, the modules up on the fender, only 1 **** on it , just turn it down. If that doesn't work just unplug it.

I'd try disconnecting the shock sensor if turning the sensitivity down doesn't work. Using the manual slide locks probably won't arm the alarm depending on the mode, easy to try. Using the fob or lock buttons will arm the system.

No need to cut any wires, just unplug the shock sensor and the rest of the system will still function. Take a look inside the shock sensor casing, sometimes they get water in them causing corrosion.

so the shock sensor only goes off if some is playing their music too loud or someone bumps into it right, so unplugging it will leave the rest of the system armed in case someone tries to break into the car, is this correct?

i turned down the sensitivity (turned it CCW) and it hasnt gone off since, but did turn it almost 2 complete turns, is that way too much?

thanks for your help
