Default sound deadener combo

Has anyone tried using 3M under coating and then putting some sort of mat like edead or rammat over it? It seems like that would be a good combo, but I was wondering if the mat would have difficulty adhering to the undercoating spray. Or maybe you could go mat then spray?

Wink

I would save the undercoating for under the car.

Inside the body cavities I use a layer of Damplifier with a layer of OverKill Pro glued to it. I glue the Overkill Pro to the sheets of Damplifier prior (day before) to install that way you avoid the smell and mess of the spray adhesive in the car and the process is still peel-n-stick.

Lightbulb

1 sheet of Overkill Pro (9 sq.ft.) is enough to do the inside of both outer door skins (the bottom 2/3rds), and some inside the sail panels.

If you buy another sheet (9 sq.ft.) you can do the inside of both rear quarter panels.

And you can use whatever brand of peel-n-stick sound deadening you prefer, to glue(spray adhesive) the Overkill Pro to.

hmm, that seems like it might be a good deal. I might do rammat or edead on everything and then use overkill pro on the trouble areas. Do you think the overkill would be good for between panels to prevent vibrations in areas such as the back hatch? also what is the best way to make the sail panels fit snug? Just use the overkill? THanks

The Overkill would work good between panels since it's only 1/8" thick. The Overkill Pro which is 3/8" thick would work best in the locations I listed above.

Thanks for the help. Now I just have to decide how much I want to spend. I want to keep it at $200 or less. I think I could do that with rammat and overkill. I better order soon cause driving without an interior sucks!!!
