Door open lighting
Door open lighting The other day I got mad and slammed my drivers door. Ever since then when I open it, none of the lights come on unless I jiggle the handle. I also can't unlock the car from the switch on the door until i jiggle the handle cause the car doesn't know the door is open. ? anyone have a problem like this? Is there a way I can just turn the lights off so that when I open the door they won't light up?
sounds like something happened to the little mechanism on the door lock actuator/assembly.
Pull it out and see if it cracked or broke off. You only need a torx bit to unscrew the 3 screws.
The two thin black wires going to this assembly are for the sensor. I forget if you have to break their circuit (cut one of them) or close the circuit (wire them together).
I really would only do that temporarily as you can get that assembly for $15-20 on eBay.

Yes, you're right, try unplugging it. If that doesnt work, put a paperclip or wire on the end of the plug to short the two pins together.
Remember there is a delay, they lights wont go out right away.
