Question Frankenstein Rear Defroster?

Ok, so I'm getting a new spoiler for my car. It just so happens that the entire rear glass is coming with it as a package deal. Now I have two options. I could swap the spoilers, or I could swap the entire glass, and get a defroster out of the deal. My car didn't come with a defroster, or power seats.... or even power windows for that matter. Does anyone know what would be invovled in retrofitting the rear defroster into my car? I imagine that the switch is supposed to go in the trim panel above the radio, but what about the wiring? Will I need to run a full set of wires for this? It is a very unknown subject for me. Thanks for any help guys.

TTT!!!!!

I went and looked at it. I've got two switch harnesses attached at the back of the switch panel above the radio. I assume one is for the fog lamps and one would be for the defroster, but I'm not sure which is which. Where do I find the breaker for the circuit? I have a suspicion that all the wiring is there, but the switch isn't and I'm not sure about the breaker.

the two switches above the radio are for your fog lights and traction control. the rear defroster switch should be built into the heating/AC controls in the lower left hand side.(it is a little round button) At least that is where my switch is.

That definitely throws a wrench into the works. Now I guess I need to figure out a way to jerry-rig the new rear defroster into my car. Does anyone have any ideas?

I think your harness akready has the wires there. All you should need is the switch. I will look tomorrow to see what wires they are. Drop your dome light and see if you have and extra plug(i think thats where the plug is). I will double check tomorrow. It should be pretty easy to do. Even if you dont have the nesasary(sp) wires all you need is some wires and a switch(with relay to turn defrost off incase you forget).

The plug behind the ac/heating controls is a thick orange, small brown, small black, I forgot the forth color probably blue. The plug under the head liner is thick purple, thick black, and small blue. Just drop the dome light and pull down the head liner a few inches. I have an extra set of heater controls with rear window defrost switch i could sell for cheap. You would still need the small harness that goes from head liner to window. Purple wire goes to passenger side, black wire goes to drivers side.
