Bose Head Unit
Bose Head Unit Will a bose head unit fit in and plug up to the stock wiring harness in my 99 z28. Cause my stock one the cd player is starting to mess up.

That depends on which Bose unit you're talking about. If you mean a Bose head unit out of a 93-96 Camaro then no - it won't work. Those Bose units produced low-level high-impedance output that is incompatible with the Monsoon amp.

That will depend on the year and model. First, the Bose units in recent model Yukons are double DIN rather than the 1.5 DIN size used in f-bodies. So you will have to make modifications just to get the head unit to fit in the dash. It can be made to fit but you will have to modify the trim bezel. Do a search on "double DIN" if you want to do it and need more information.
Second, the physical wiring connections on the back of the HU are completely different from those in your car. You will have to find some kind of wiring adapter harness to wire it up.
Third, there were two different types of Bose systems used in recent model SUVs. One type was designated "LUX" and the other was "non-LUX". The LUX system is completely digital. It sends a constant level signal to an external amp along with a separate control signal. The audio signal never varies regardless of settings on the head unit - all the variations are sent to the amp in the control signal and the amp applies them. So when you turn up the volume, the audio signal remains the same but the HU sends an "increase volume" signal to the amp and the amp takes care of making the change. The same applies to bass, treble, balance, fader, etc. This type of Bose system is not compatible with your car (unless you rewire and use the Bose amp as well).
The non-LUX Bose system is similar to the Monsoon. It provides speaker- level output to an external amp like the Monsoon system does so you might be able to make it work.
If you decide to do this, you will have to determine which Bose type you have. Usage varies between models and even between years of the same model. For example, the TrailBlazer/Envoy/Ranier used the LUX system until 2003 and then switched to the non-LUX. The only way to tell for sure is to look at the amp for the SUV you got the HU from.
