So i was driving the other day, and by the time i was about a half mile away from my house, my car started smoking all over. It was so bad that i could barely breathe. I had to turn around and go back to my. I looked and it turns out that it was a wire that was burning. It was connected to either my subs, or amp, to my fuse block, with the wire wrapped around a fuse. The fuse melted and the wire had melted all the way through. A black wire, and it was mostly copper showing. So i took the wire out, but now my radio and my power windows are not working. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

 

Are you talking about the power wire to the Amp?

 

It could be the power wire, it was the one that was connected to a fuse in the main fuse block in the drivers side

 

Oh, that's not the Amp power wire. Replace the wire that burned if you haven't already.

 

How do i tell where the wire went? I am not even positive that it went to the amp, but im pretty sure. I cant find where it would go on the back of the amp. How would this affect my not having power windows, too?

 

Didn't you say the wire went to the Fuse block on the drivers side? Black or red wire? Do you have any pictures?

 

Couple questions.

1. Is this the stock system?

2. If not, did someone else install it?

 

It WAS a black wire, but now its a copper wire with no casing whatsoever, and my buddy installed the whole thing. The head unit, subs, and amp are all not stock. I really dont know much at all about stereo stuff, so if you could just tell me what parts look like it might be easier than saying the actual name of them.
