Wiring line lock guys i will be installin my line lock
Today and have a quesion. How would I go about making the button that engages the line lock my preset button on my steerig wheel? Sorry for the possible stupid question but I don't know much about wiring . It is a sjm kit.

I have the sjm kit on my car, I used a switch in my nitrous panel, that is in my ashtray. To be honest with you I am not sure that you can do what you are wanting. The controls in the steering wheel I believe go thru some kind of interface to work with the stereo.. Also I dont think that any of those buttons carry the correct +12, or a direct ground that you need to actuate the solenoid. Just my thoughts I could be wrong, but Iknow that all the wires are very small gauge wires, so even if you got it to work (which I dont believe can) , I dont belive it would carry the load for the solenoid, causing you to have to use a relay.

That for the replys, I have already wired it all up . I have master switch and light in the little cubby hold thing next to the cig lighter. And the activator button in the ashtray. I want to wire it to a switch instead of the button so I could just switch it on instead of holding the button the entire time. Is this okay to do or is there a reason not to do that?
the only reason not to would be if you or someone else flipped the switch accidentally with the master switch left on as well. then when u hit the brakes for say traffic or at a stop light/sign the brakes would remain held.
