Default Alpine 9885 & Ipod issue

So recently I started having a problem with my stereo & Ipod on a long road trip. When using the Ipod controls on the stereo with the Ipod in the glove box, it will eventually quit working after a few songs. It will quit going to the next song and just keep searching. The name and artist will show up on the screen for next song, but it will just sit there with no music and then try to skip to the next song. It does the same thing even if I try to manual skip to the next song.

This all started after I disconnected the battery to install a line lock.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Gotta narrow down the problem. First, does the iPod do this when not hooked up to the radio. Second, if you have a friend that has the same cable that goes to the 9885, borrow it, hook it up and see if the problem still persists. That eliminates the iPod and the cable being the issue. There is a reset button on the unit somewhere. This of course will reset all your settings but it may also reset any functional issues. I would unplug the iPod and eject any disc that may be inside the unit. Then hit the reset button and try everything again.
Other then that it might be the 9885 itself may have an issue. Good luck!

It's probably the ipod. My Alpine 9884 does the same thing. I unplug the ipod, reset it, plug it back in and it works fine after that.

Well I reset both the Ipod and head unit and everything works good now.

Thanks all for the help
