Light under shifter?
Light under shifter? Ok so i have a 00 camaro and noticed that the shifter doesn't have a light underneath lighting up the letters (P,N,D,etc..) and was wondering if they even come with a bulb there or if its burned out. If it doesn't, any way to wire something up?

All automatic f-bodies have a light illuminating the "PRNDL" (believe it or not, that's the industry name for it, pronounced "prindle"). The bulb may be burned out or the little socket may have fallen out of the holder. Open up the console box, remove the coin holder, and remove the two screws holding the upper portion of the console. That should allow you to lift the top of the console up to check the bulb and socket. You have to remove the shift **** if you want to take the console top completely off.
The bulb is a #74 if you need a new one - it's available from most auto parts stores.

Well i went and checked it out and the bulb must be burnt out, but i cant seem to get it out of the socket w/o risking breaking it.

Most people have that problem - they are almost impossible to remove without breaking the bulb. Wrap a bit of cloth around it and use a pair of needle-nose pliers to wiggle and pull it out. Don't worry about breaking the old one as long as you get it out of the socket.
