Default Ipod2car connection is loose

I have the Ipod2car setup in both my Trans Ams and am having a problem with the connection at the bottom of the ipod in both cars. The connector that goes from the ipod to the ipod2car box is extremely loose and is causing a lot of volume fluctuations and the whining noise you hear when wiring is bad.

If I hold the connector at the bottom of the Ipod at the perfect angle, the volume is perfect and I don't hear the whining. But I can't drive with no hands so that option is out the window.

Has anyone else had this problem? I'm not sure if it is my Ipod or the connectors that came with the kits.
