Default Calling All Carpc Gurus

I have my carpc that I bought off of mp3car but i can't figure out how to power it. Is the switch in the picture required or can the two male and female ends be hooked together to complete the circuit? when i plug it into an ac outlet nothing happens. any pointers? also when i plugged the screen into my laptop via vga it says something about no signal input and then it goes blank but when i touch it, it controls the laptop clicking.

It is best to use the power switch. You really do not want the CarPC drawing current when the engine is off, or going on whenever the car turns on. The little wires on the switch complete a low voltage circuit that acts like the power button on the laptop.

Don't understand what you are describing with the monitor. Make sure you have the monitor supplied with the correct amount of power, and connect the USB from the monitor to the laptop. You might have to go into the monitor's menu system to see if there is something there. Also, make sure your monitor resolution is matched to the computer's output resolution.

You might want to test the computer with a regular monitor to make sure the computer really works.

Are you sure the power supply is the right one? Did you ask the guy who sold it to you? Did you post at mp3car.com forums?
