Replacing Speakers...
Replacing Speakers... BIG PROPS TO Tim (SicSix6) & Michelle (Flaminbird) for coming to help today but....
Gotta question....
The speakers behind the seats on the panel have 4 wires into the speakers....
red/blk 2 on one side
red/blk 2 on other side 4 ohms speakers
Coming outta the car there are 4 wires....I think green, black, brown, white (Maybe) ........
The new Sony Xplod are also 4 ohms but have only 2 wires that are going to the speakers?! Which 2 wires (green, black, brown, white) running outta the car are the 2 to hook to the new Sony speakers?

Your best bet is to take back the Sony speakers and get the correct ones to fit the sail panels. Firebirds have dual voice coil subs in the sail panels. That's why there's four wires - positive and negative for each of the two channels.
So, not only do the Sony speakers not have the correct connections, they're not subs so they will sound terrible. The Monsoon system filters the signal so that only low frequencies go to the sail panels.

So does this mean I need two channel speakers?

Well, they're called dual voice coil (DVC) but yes that would be the best option. Don't confuse that with coaxial speakers - you are replacing subs so coaxial speakers will not work properly. You could use single voice coil subs but you would be giving up half your available power.
