Bulb socket; Can it be matched?
Mainly I need one that fits the housing (note the vented non-sealed design; 2 different sized tabs @ 180deg.) As for the rest of the details...
Takes an 1156 bulb. It's a CHMSL socket for my 87 SS. Need 2 but would buy more.
Dorman, Summit, a metric ton of eBay have been reviewed. :o
Anything with 2 locking tabs has either inclined plane tabs or is otherwise not the same / won't fit the housing. Most bulb sockets like this are 3-tab. Most are pigtailed, not terminated at blades; I can deal with a lot of that with a dremel / solder.

Here is your answer:
Since there wasn't a Camaro SS in 1987, that narrows this down to a Monte Carlo SS.
CHMSL = Center High Mount Stop Lamp.
(AKA: Third Brake Light)

Sorry - I'm a tool. I was having problems with the image on my computer and missed the details.
I don't have any good sources for Monte Carlo parts, but the GM part number is on the back: 5972533. Have you tried a dealer? I don't see it online, but a dealer may have a tool to look it up.
