Well, if you insist on using the wrong kind of switch for the job, here is the pinout for the Camaro fog light switch:

A - ground for ON indicator light
B - ground for switch illumination
C - power for switch illumination (from IP dimmer)
D - not used
E - power for fog lights (or whatever)
F - switched output to fog light relay (or whatever)

If you decide that an ASR (momentary) switch would be better for the job, I can post the pinout for that too.

Default ASR Switch Pinout

A - ground for ON indicator light
B - power for ON indicator light
C - power for switch illumination
D - not used
E - ASR signal control
F - ground

This switch is a little different than a fog light switch in that it is intended for use as a grounding switch. You should control a relay by running the ground side of the relay coil to pin E so that pressing the switch grounds it through pin F.

You can use the switch for positive switching if you don't mind giving up switch illumination. Leave pin C disconnected and you can use pins E and F as a simple single-pole momentary switch.

since this thread has more info then the one i made asking about the switches i have a question.

to use the fog switch to activate my nitrous....is it as simple as cutting the purple wire right off the fog light and running that to the full throt switch or do i need to grab pin E or F......
im confused as to whether i need to use: E - power for fog lights or F - switched output to fog light relay

update in case anyone searches this for the answer.
yes, the purple wire off the camaro fog is a live wire! just run it to whatever you want to power

Okay, that's really odd. First, there is no purple wire on the Camaro fog light switch. The Firebird switch has a purple wire but it's wired differently and the purple wire controls the ON indicator light... in other words it has power only when the fog lights are on. Second, the power to the switch is only active when the parking lights or headlights are on (otherwise you could turn on your fog lights at any time without other lights). I suspect you tested with your automatic headlights on - try again when all the lights are off.

my garage lighting sucks.....it may be a deep blue rather then purple. (i meant to type blue but it as late

and good point on how the fogs work. im thinkin i may have to turn the parking lights on so the fog get a signal.
