MIGHTYMOUSE headlight mod help needed...

MIGHTYMOUSE headlight mod help needed... My brother did the MM headlight mod on his '00 WS6. This mod consisted of putting high beam headlight assemblies in the low beam assembly spot.
He removed the mod and put the low beams lamps back in the low beam spot. Since then his LEFT turn signals will not work. His right turn signal works just fine. Now, whenever he uses his LEFT turn signal or his Hazard lights it blows a fuse in the fuse box (the one located on the side of the driver's dash). His cruise control also doesn't work since he did the headlight mod.
All the bulbs are fine and he has replaced all the flashers multiple times.
Do you think the problem could be the switch assembly in the steering column, the one that controls cruise and turn signals, however his windshield wipers still work.
Any ideas?
