Default What the hell!

Today i took off the driver door panel to get to the window motor...and when i take it off i see 2 sets of speaker wire spliced (hand twisted and halfassed elec. taped) into the + and - wires of the power door locks. im guessing those are from the rear speakers? can someone PLEASE explain to me why this jackass previous owner did this! im so sick of finding things half assed things on this car!!! (he didnt even cut the wire to length or zip tie just shoved it all up in there!!!) i would like to do it the RIGHT way, i have minor knowledge in wiring stereos but i know this cannot be the right way. also there is no amp, and the speakers are crap, less than a in. thick magnet 6in. speakers, nothing the stock wires couldnt handle...why did he do this and how can i fix it? any advice would be very helpful.

No one knows why people do what they do. Are you sure it's from the rear speakers? If so, sounds like the cars a wiring mess so I'd just rewire everything from either the HU to each speaker, or get a small amp to push the speakers and wire them from that.

im not 100% sure its from the rear speakers but the speaker in the driver door is using the stock wires so its just a guess...i also found out why my window switch lights arent illuminating, the dam + wire is cut and was just slung up on the inside of the door...guess he tried to get power from that first and found out it wasnt enough...people i swear

Speakers don't require (or use) DC power. The speaker wire you see connected to power and ground in the door doesn't go to any speakers... certainly not to an working speakers. It was probably the only wire the previous owner had lying around for whatever use he had. Could it be part of some aftermarket alarm system?
