Image dynamic id12 subwoofer questions

Image dynamic id12 subwoofer questions Was given a image dynamics id12" sub today for free from a friend. Dont know anything about these or what they sound like, anyone have one or know anything about them? I found a few articles on google and one listed it for $550 brand new... Do they really cost this much and what kind of sound am I looking at out of it?
If it's the one out of a wrecked '99 Formy, it's a standard ID sub, usually around $100-120 new. The IDMax 12" runs around $400. It still sounded really good in the car, I'd just run the crap out of it and save up cash for something really fancy. It will definitely be good enough to make your head hurt after a while.
Image Dynamics make good subs. I switched my JL's for Image Dynamics because I was tired of the problems I was having with JL at the time. I think the ID's sounded better than my JL's.
