Default Parking Light Harness Melts?

hey guys,

i looked around on the boards and i wanted to know if any of you all are having this problem. Every couple of months one of the harnesses to my front parking lights will melt....then the other! At first it didnt bother me, well now its starting to get to me. its $17 plus labor for each harness. my mechanic replaced them and siliconed around the harnesses when they melted.

any suggestions?

thanks

Don't know about the Camaro but something similar on my BMW 330 was atributed to a bad gound. The rear brake lights have a poorly designed ground and too much current was flowing thru a small guage wire. Try grounding or adding a ground to each harness as this was the recc fix for my car.

The pulley and battery should not affect the harness melting. Try adding a ground to the harness and see if it helps.
