Default Both Key Fobs Stopped Working?

Went on an errand used the fob to unlock the car, open the trunk - everythings normal. Got home and remote wouldn't arm the alarm or lock the doors. Figured fob battery finally died (original), got my spare out and same thing. For some reason they've lost communication with the car. Any ideas?

I checked the batteries, 3.2V so they're OK. Also tried resynchronization holding the lock and unlock buttons, wouldn't cycle the door locks or flash the parking lights.

I had this problem once but was only for my unlock button, it wouldn't work and if it did I'd have to press real hard. My fix was to pull it complately apart and clean any gunk out of it on the board and behind the buttons. Not sure if it'll help your problem but can't hurt. And you sure you're following the key fob procedure correctly? Just making sure its clear.

Remotes were clean inside. Haven't tried reprogramming them from scratch yet, just the resynch thing sometimes needed after replacing a fob battery. Something else I'll try tomorrow is arming the alarm using the door lock button and seeing if the lights flash and dash led flashes...and goes off after opening the door with the key. If those don't work I think my BCM might be toast.

They do crap out over time no matter how hard you try to keep them up. I gotta replace mine cause they will not work period and everything else is fine.
