2008 headunit in a 2006?

2008 headunit in a 2006? t in a 2006? I was wondering if it is possible to add a stock '08 Silverado headunit to our '06 Silverado to allow for the aux jack but keep a factory look.

It won't work. The head unit is encoded for the vehicle in which it is initially installed and can't be reprogrammed. It's GM's antitheft system that replaced the TheftLock system used in f-bodies. I upgraded the factory HU in my wife's Envoy and got stuck with being unable to sell the original in-dash 6-disc changer because of the security programming.
