JL Audio crossovers
I have an 05 GTO.. I have a pioneer x920bt hu.. Installing JL C3 650 components in the doors.. Is it wise to use the JL crossover or do I not need it?

does the GTO have a factory amp? If it does then you might not want to use the JL crossovers because the factory amp probably has crossovers already built in. If it had components stock then the woofer and tweeter are wired to two separate channels of the factory amp. If that stock location was coaxial type speakers wired to a single channel then you will want to use the crossovers.

The factory amp in the GTO was only for the Rear subwoofers. No factory component speakers, the speakers in the door and the rear speakers were full range. The two 6.5" speakers on the rear deck are powered seperately by the amp which is a lower frequency. You will want to use the crossover that came with the speakers.

why would you buy expensive JL audio speakers and not use the crossovers that came with them? Doesnt make any sense. I love JL audio but i wouldnt spend that money if i wasnt gonna use all the equipment.
