Headlights flickering

Headlights flickering I'll be driving down the road at night and my headlights will flicker for a split second and I noticed the CHECK GAUGES dummy light will flicker when the headlights do. What can cause this? It does it only when I have it in Drive and the engine is torqued.

Thanks for replying. Its not the battery terminals. I check them the other day and they are tight. I've read some other posts over the past couple days since I posted this, and what I've read is that its the alternators that tend to start going out and making the lights flicker.
Figured I'll drop a new alternator on it within the next week to see if that fixes it. I work for a garage so getting parts at cost isn't a problem nor installing them. The lights were flicking ever since I got the car 7 years ago but it would only do it every once in a while. Now its gotten alot worse to where its messing with the performance and electrical of the car and we can't have that, especially with 4 kids and me and the ol' lady in the house.
