Default Let's see your setups and SPL scores

Doesn't have to be anything fancy.. Just post up a pic, specs, and scores. PLEASE don't tell me your 1 10" CVR in a little sealed box hit a 150 in your vert. Just curious on what y'all have. Im gonna be doing another SPL build in another couple months... Going for 150s with 1 12" woofer. (I like a challenge) ha ha Anyway, just show us what you got... Thanks!

Edit: ALSO, please include what style. IE: Legal (doors/windows closed and mic on the dash) or Outlaw (Door open and mic in the kick), etc... and include what mic (Termlab, Audiocontrol, etc...)

I don't have pics sorry but my first setup I had a Rockford 1000bd amp pushing a L7 12" in a small sealed box set inside the well in the back and it did 145 db. I never competed with my other setups but the loudest one I had was a L7 15" in a huge sealed box on that same amp.

Also may want to mention what device was used for measurement....Termlab or Audio Control, etc. Makes a big difference as to what the real number is.
Made a 144.6db with 2 10" RE Audio SE10 in stealth boxes and a RF Amp. Was an Audio Control mic though so it's a bit high. Wanted to see it on a Termlab but never got the chance.

Good point! I added that to my original post.

And yeah that is a little high for that. I did a 150.x on an Audiocontrol and only 148.6 on a TL with a setup I had a while back. ($400 setup that ended up doing 149s on the TL. What was the frequency?

no clue what i'm hitting spl wise, but this is my setup I purchased from Kee Audio last December. excellent service, prices, and shipping was really fast. got the box from subthump, and the custom led radio trim from humount. also, all factory speakers were replaced with cdt's.

That should hit a pretty good number...I would say at least 135+db conservatively. That is a very nice speaker, sub, amp combo! Wish I could hear it!!

I don't know how accurate my meter is...it's one of the those handheld Scosche meters from Wal-Mart, but I thought it would at least let me make camparisons.

Anyway, I've got a single 10" Eclipse 8710.4 in a JL Audio stealth box powered by an old school Orion Cobalt CS150.2 that puts out 280 watts RMS bridged and it said I was hitting 134 dB while holding the meter right under the rear-view mirror with the doors closed. I was using an old Bass Mechanic test disc to find the loudest frequency...which I don't even remember what that was...

I metered 147 with my old Brahma clipping like ****... I haven't tried to meter with the DD because I need to get my power upgraded so I am not clipping anymore

DD9515, RE 35.1, ~3 cubes and tuned to 33'ish hz...

Gonna do a 270amp Mechman alt with a XS 3400 battery in the back... Also planning 2 6.5s and 1 tweet in each door and another tweet on each side at the base of the A...

I will also be getting rid of the RE 35.1 (waaaay too underpowered for the DD9515, I think the birthsheet said something like 1,523 rms) and getting something with around 3kw true rms to run the sub (thinking fosgate for the amp...)

Look at the Audiopipe AQX-3500.1. It will do a TRUE 3500 RMS and is built like a tank. Their AQX series is REALLY nice. Worth every penny. 3500 TRUE RMS for about $415 is killer! Either that or a Crescendo 3K would be my next choice.

My main holdup on deciding what brand amp is deciding on the mids and highs...

I absolutely love my DD sub, best sub I have ever used and one of the best subs on the market hands down... But I have only had the chance to listen to 2 cars with DD mids/highs... So I am trying to find/listen to some more DD mid/highs so I can decide if I want to use them... So far I am almost as impressed with the mids/highs as I am with the sub...

...if I go all DD speakers then I might as well go DD amps... And nutswing...

I haven't put on a spl meter, but it's plenty loud to me!
The only change in my system is a set of Rainbow Germanium 6.5" Midrange Speakers (W-165 ) replacing the CDT HD M6+ speakers.

Very nice, 99Bluz28.

Koncrete, if you have the $$$ then go for it. But I never keep all the same brand in one car except for Crossfire. Crossfire is the one brand where I have been VERY impressed by all their products..

I got 144.9 dB at the dash on a Term lab. This was an old setup with 4 ascendant audio arsenals in ported boxes i borrowed last minute on a Rockford Fosgate X7.a which is ~1700wrms. I feel like i could have gotten in the ball park of 148-149 dB if i had a couple days to make a box. Even with the crappy boxes it was way to loud for a DD setup, it was painful. I had a ford explorer at the time btw.

I was doing almost a 149 on my daily system 2 years ago before I decided to switch it up to SQ for a little bit. Just 2 12's in a 4.5 ft^3 tuned for 33 hz with about 3kw feeding them. It was on the TL. (outlaw) Almost painful to listen to.

Had to readdress this, I checked that amp out and it's the same as a Sundown/DC/Atomic... Very nice I may have to get this instead of a DD amp a hell of a lot cheaper

The Audiopipe AQX3000 is suprisingly a good amp. It is still a true 3000watt amp but it seems to fall short sometimes.
Another really good high power amp is made by MMATS. Check out these 2:
http://www.mmatsproaudio.com/pdfs/20...20M3000.1D.htm
I have been kicking around the idea of doing a MMATS Juggernaut or Dreadnaut 12" in my daily driver with one of there amps to see what I can get out of it.
