Default How to remove the coathanger hook...?

How do you remove the coathanger hook from the passenger compartment side trim panel...?

If the side trim panel is moving/shaking (makes a rattle) does this mean the coathanger hook is coming loose (since this seems to pin the trim panel down)...?

TIA

Hi, place small screw driver into slot and pry gently to pop cap off. You can then tighten bolt. Have a blessed day....................jim

hahahahahah!!!!

I can't believe that a guy with as much technical knowledge as joecar asked for advice on this.

I read once that Einstein couldn't figure out how to tie his shoes.

joecar: take it as a compliment.

I popped the cap, but the cap seems attached/tethered... do I just keep pulling the cap and tear the tether...?

Yeah, lol, this is inside the car, and my scantool doesn't want to plug into it, leaves me kinda lost

Just keep on pulling it out. I had to dig my screwdriver in there several times in order to get it all the way out.

It's not tethered at all. The coat hanger is merely wedged into place by the center piece that you apply the screwdriver to. If you pull that centerpiece out the hanger should pop out. I had to deal with this the other day as I had to run a new antenna extension cable through the interior. What I had trouble with was trying to get the hanger back on, lol.

BTW, I didn't know that was a "coat hanger" ha ha. I never figured an F body owner would care enough to want to hang their clothes in their car lol...

Ok, I understand: pull the center tab all the way out/off, and then hanger comes off.

Thanks.
