sub/amp issue
sub/amp issue So I bought my car last june and it came with 2 pioneer 10" subs, a boss 4 channel amp and a pioneer stereo, the whole system is 10 years old. For a 10 year old system (stereo doesn't even play mp3 cds) it sounds amazing. I was listening to my music the other day and noticed my bass was lacking so I popped open the hatch and one of my subs wasn't working, one is wired into channel 1, the other to channel 3. After some checking to make sure all the connections were fine I started switching the wires around on my amp, channel 1 wasn't getting power, 3 was fine, so I tried every other combo of 1-4 and each time only one sub was getting power. So I wired both into 3 and they both worked, subs were hitting nice and strong again. Is it okay to run both off of one channel? If not I will just buy a new amp

Your not going to hurt the sub doing it that way, possibly the amp though. Considering the fact that it is as old as it is and not a "collectable" vintage amp or anything, I'd run it that way till it blows then get rid of it. Who knows...it may run that way for a long time.
Sounds like you lost a channel already so just keep running it the way you have it since it is working.
