Need help adjusting headlights!

Need help adjusting headlights! what's a good method in adjusting headlights? just made the switch to hid and i think my headlights are off.

Just back away from your garage (neighbor's garage if you dont have one 
) about 25 feet or so and get them to line up with eachother and the angle you want them at, take it for a drive and see if you want them aimed higher or lower

I always line them up on the garage door but most of the time as I back away they look like they go out of adjustment.
Now what I do is get an initial adjustment on the door, drive around the block, stop in the road in front of my house and make adjustments as needed, go for another ride, etc.
