Left headlight motor has wireing issues,,,, need help??
Left headlight motor has wireing issues,,,, need help?? Just got a 98 ws6, and the headlight wasnt working?? so after some inspection,,, looks like someone wired it all messed up,,,
My motor has a red and black comeing from it,,,
-the black was wired to some speaker wire and when to a ground located at top of first picture
-the red wire was connected to a green wire comeing from the headlight harness,,, (it seems to be cut from the headlight harness and wired to it, with the headlight harness green wire just hanging there,,, is this correct,, Im guessing the speaker wire was an indication that the person was not a pro by anymeans?
I bench tested the motor and its running fine,,, but wont work how they had it wired??
what are the stock colors for the motor wires, and where do they go??

The headlight door motors don't have power and ground in the normal sense. They have two wires that reverse polarity depending on whether the headlights are opening or closing. The wires are light green and dark green on the left side (light blue and dark blue on the right side). Both wires go to the headlamp door control module.
The headlamp door control module has those wires plus two orange power (one from each of the left and right fuses in the junction box), yellow headlight on wire, brown parking lights on wire and black ground wire.

yes,,, i knew it was messed when i seen that ground wired in,,, ok so,,, my motor has a black and a red,, is it a aftermarket headlight motor?
so the connector in the picture is the one for the headlights,,, is that that the one your talking about, that goes to the module?? i only seem to have one lead that was taped into the headlight motor,,, the green one.. this is wrong too right?? I seem to be missing one of those green wire???
mm now ill have to go out to take another look,,, where the module wires go. thanks your the man

ok so looks like my headlight plug has been chopped up because of corrosion issues,, so im going to cut it out an wire in a new one and rewire from the module to the motor while Im at it....
