Help with Monsoon sound distortion

I've got a 2000 Camaro SS with major sound distortion from the front right speaker and some distortion from the rest of the system. I took the right front speaker out tonight expecting to find it blown or otherwise damaged, but it looked like new. I then proceeded to remove the amp expecting to find something burned or broken. I opened the cover to the amp and again everything looked like new. Could the head unit itself be bad? Where should I look next?

Troubleshooting is never fun....could be lots of things. Check th voice coil resistance with a multi-meter and see what it reads. Could be the amp going if all the speakers have distortion.

Many times the front right speaker will touch the grill and cause distortion - there was actually a GM service bulletin on this back in the day. Add some weather stripping around the speaker edge/grill to give the speaker more room...
