Default Help!! t/a wont start :(

Here's the story:

Drove the car for a good 45 min during the day.She ran strong, even had it up to about 125. **** I even got a race in (RS4 ). Got home and went back out about 5 hrs later. Started up no problem. Got around the block to my buddies house to pick him up, came back outside and she doesn't wanna start. It's definitely not mechanical.. the electronics in the car started flipping out. The dials on the dash started going crazy. I finally got it to start and it started real weak, I had to give it gas or it would die but I was thankfully able to get it back in the driveway (the drive home seemed fine, too). Now it won't start at all, which is a problem because the drivers side window is open.

What's happening now:

-remote keyless alarm system not working
-the car is getting electricity from the battery though; when I open the door the courtesy lights come on and the little red alarm light blinks
-When I turn the ignition, nothing at all. The little red alarm light blinks like crazy but that's about it
-I can get the dash to illuminate, but its very dim

I'm thinking that because we had a FUCKLOAD of rain here recently that something may have gotten wet. I also checked my battery and PCM connections, all seem good. The battery is 4 months old. Also, got my PCM tuned but I couldn't for the life of me get the PCM seals to sit right on re-installation so I left them off. Possible problem?

What's going on?!?! Any help is very much appreciated. I just paid my insurance for the year on the car too

Are you talking about the dashboard security light or the little red LED? Just went outside to check.. it wasn't pretty. I couldn't get anything to turn on and the car was spazzing out like I've never seen before. The blinking red security light just went on and off really fast and made a clicking sound as it was blinking rapidly. I was able to get the headlights to turn on once as well as the dash lights but after that.. nothing. Even the backseat courtesy light was blinking on and off rapidly with the red security light. Don't know WTF is going on here.. something definitely seems like it got fried though

I had mine do this when my battery was going bad. All of the symptoms. The clicking noise and all. Are any of your lights dim when you open the door? My interior lights would come on but there was never enough juice to start the car. Once you get it started the battery doesn't matter. It will run fine if your alternator is good. Take the battery to Autozone or Advance or whoever. They check it for free. Always a good place to start.

Although I will pray the battery is the problem here, it's 99% unlikely. The battery in there is basically brand new, can't be more than 4 months old replacing the stock one. And I'm not sure if this matters, but on the one time I was able to get it to start to drive back home, it cranked and started but died immediately. I then tried to start it again and it cranked again but I had to give it gas to keep idle for about 20 seconds and it was fine. The ride home was fine too; got it in the driveway and turned the car off and haven't been able to start it since. Also, my dash gauges are going nuts even without the key in the ignition. WHAT THE FUCKKK

All sounds like the same from when my battery freaked the f*ck out. You have any accessories that may be killing it? Added any new electronics lately? But these all sound very familiar to me. It is a good place to start none-the-less. Can you jump it?

No new electronics/accessories. What I'm thinking could also possibly be it is a loose positive battery terminal connection. Because GM couldn't leave us more than 2 @$%!ing inches to fit a socket wrench in there it's hard to get it tight with a hand wrench and I've had problems with it coming loose before. So what I'll do is unscrew it and pop it back in good. I really wanted to avoid that route though because now my PCM is gonna throw a code for my LT's that I had tuned out... fml. Who am I kidding I wasn't gonna get that inspection anyway

If all that ^^ goes to **** I'll try and jump it just so I can get the damn window to close..

Your tune will not be deleted by unplugging and plugging the battery in. It is saved in flash memory and can only be deleted by re-tuning. You have no worries there. You didn't say if it could be jumped or not.

Really? I thought I read on the sheet I got from Frost that if the PCM loses connection all codes will be reset.. I'm not talking about the tune, I meant the DTC codes for the rear 02's. We shall see! lol I hope you're right though of course. As for the cars ability to be jumpstarted.. we'll see about that too. I'm gonna mess with it first before I do that to see if I can get her to start on her own. Its just weird that this all happened after the car drove perfect all day. I guess the guy in the RS4 I walked put a curse on my T/A?

Lol... let me know. If the deletes are lost when the PCM loses connection then how did he mail order tune it for you? I believe he is the mail order guy right? Just a thought.

If your battery jostles around too much, some of the plates inside it can dislodge. This can make it appear to produce normal voltage but not under any load. Your electronics going crazy is what can happen as they approach their minimum threshold voltage for operation. I know you think the battery is good but if you have another vehicle, try swapping batteries with it temporarily. If you get a new battery, consider strapping it down to the cradle.
