amp for single 10" sub

amp for single 10" sub Looking for an amp to power my alpine type R 10. Found a good deal on a volfenhag 2000w monoblock amp. Would this be a good fit? If not, what should i look for? Thanks

No Wolfenhag....that's like Lanzar, Pyle, Pyramid, and the rest of the "budget" brands out there. Do not waste your money.

I have tested these thoroughly as I was skeptical at first and am using one in my DD currently. It will do that Type-R right and for the money you can't beat them. Plus they have a tiny foot print are really 1ohm stable. It will also put out a real 1000watts at 1ohm. This puts you right in the meat of the power for that Type-R at 600watts RMS @ 2ohms.
I have used a Volfenhag 2000watt amp before....it is a joke. Beware of amps that say 2000watts and have an RMS rating of 800watts. If the RMS rating is 800watts then the peak power output should be about 1600watts...not 2000.

Assuming you bought the "2 + 2" DVC version, I suggest you run the coils in series for better damping and stability with a 4 Ohm load.
As Ian said, stay away from the cheapo brands for longevity, power, and reliability.
Kenwood KAC-9105D would be a good choice, but I wouldn't go any lower than this:
