Default Problems with AVH-4300DVD and PAC SWI

Ok guys this is the first thing that I feel I can really contribute to this site since I have been on it.

I put a Pioneer AVH-4300DVD into my Firehawk with an amp, sub and all new speakers.

First time I put the H/U into the car it didn't work right. When I tried to select a radio station it would seek non stop and I would have to turn the car off and on to get it to stop.

I couldn't go to any other screen besides the radio screen. I could press the config button but unless I held it down it wouldn't stay there.

I sent the H/U back to Ian who had Pioneer check it and and then Ian took it home and checked it for three days on his own time. The H/U checked out fine.

Ian sent it back to me and said it might have been the screws that Pioneer sent with the H/U that were causing a short in the radio.

TruBloodTransAm responded in my thread saying he had a similar problem with his H/U and found it to be the PAC SWI adapter plugged in to the H/U but not wired to the car.

Here's a link to my thread.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...l#post15109972

I got the H/U back and plugged just the harness in and that's it. The H/U worked flawlessly. I started hooking up other things, I pod adapter, putting the mounting brackets on.

I plugged the PAC SWI adapter into the H/U(which is not wired into the car)and it did it!!!!

Here's a video of it.

2nd vid of exactly what I had happen before.

I am not bashing either product. But apparently the PAC SWI needs to be wired in to the car before it works correctly.

Mad props to TruBloodTransAm and Ian@Kee Audio.

Please pass this along to everyone you know.

instructions from PAC shows the connecting to the car process

Step 3.

I know it's suppose to wired up Dennis. The reason I had this problem is I was checking to make sure the H/U and everything worked before I bolted everything up.
