Volume goes up and down randomly on its own Car is a 2001 WS6 with the factory Monsoon system. Nothing aftermarket. Sometimes, the music volume goes up and down randomly on it's own, and it's very annoying. This happens regardless of whether I am playing off a CD or the radio. Other days I'll turn it on and it will play fine all day. It seems to have this problem roughly half the time. What is causing this, and what do I need to fix/replace to remedy the issue?
I had this problem and it was my steering controls for the stereo. They were worn out and would randomly turn the volume up all the way while driving. It was a great distraction.
Replaced the controls and no more problem.
