Problem with 6.75 Bass.. HELP!

Problem with 6.75 Bass.. HELP! So I put Polk Audio 6750's (6.57's) into my car, and now when I turn up the stereo, which is aftermarket Pioneer 6800, the speakers will make a 'clicking' sound at higher volumes when the bass hits. It's pretty annoying and I thought I'd be able to get more bass out of them than what I am. I'm using the factory amplifier (monsoon) and I have a Trans Am... if that matters.

Do they do this with the door panel off, too? Test it out if you don't know. They are either hitting something at higher excursions, you are bottoming them out, or they are defective. Do you have a high pass filter?

It is possible... I would probably be able to tell you if I heard it in person, but it's hard to tell over the internet. Just take off one door panel and move the balance, no need to take both off for testing purposes.
It could also be due to the lack of sealing in the door. Some speakers cope with this better than others. Ideally, we'd all make fiberglass covers to seal up the gaps on the inner part of the door. Some people use CLD (e.g. Dynamat) which is better than nothing but far from ideal.

Yeah man, I did that. I put dynamat on the whole interior fiberglass panel. I get into my G6 (2005) and the bass from those door speakers KILL my Polk Audio's... upsetting
