Default voltage problem, need help

Ok well I've been have this voltage problem for a little while now where my voltage will drop to the tip of the red when I put a load on the motor or when I get in traffic and motor gets worm and can't find out what it is. I up graded the alternator to a 220 amp, did the big 3, changed battery and still have a problem. I don't run the ac, and I donr have a sound system so I don't know why this is happening. I'm not really good with electrical so that why I'm asking for help. What should I do next besides get the new alternator tested which I'm doing Tuesday. Thanks

Did you check the exciter wire? You should probably also have the new alternator tested. If its a reman, they can be bad right from the box.

Where'd you get the 220A alternator? You can't get them from just any company. To get a good one, you have to go with a reliable company.

I got the alternator from power bastards. I seen an ls1tech post where someone got one as well and did the big three.

The exciter wire is the small red wire hooked up to the alternator via a plug. It feeds back battery voltage to the alternator to help it produce the proper power. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alterna...e_of_operation

Its common for folks to forget to hook the wire back up or yank it out or the harness when removing the alternator, etc.
