Default bad HID Ballast?

I have HID headlights in my 97 Camaro. Recently the headlights have started to go off sporadically. I checked the wires for loose connections and didn't find any (but I may need to check more thoroughly.). If the ballast was going bad could it be the culprit? How can I test the ballast to see if it is still good or if it's going out? Thanks in advance.

Is it one light or both lights acting wierd. If its only one, swiitch the ballasts around to rule out the ballast. If not check the connections.

Previously it was both of them. But recently the left one has been stubborn to turn on. I will try what you said when i get home tonight.

It could also be a bad bulb too.

Agreed, switch the ballast around and then the bulbs if necessary to narrow down the fault.
