factory alarm question
factory alarm question I am having an issue I need some help with. If I lock the doors manually or if I lock them with the remote the alarm goes off and I cant get the alarm to stop going off unless I unlock with the keyfob. If I unlock it using the keyfob everything is fine, but the first time I lock it it does the same thing again.
I can start and drive the car just fine even when the alarm is going off. Car is bone stock with no aftermarket electronics either....
Anyone have a suggestion of heard of an issue like this before?

I assume by "lock the doors manually" you mean using the door switch. If you lock the doors using the slides in the handles the alarm shouldn't arm.
The most common cause for these symptoms is a faulty shock sensor. It is located on the right wheelwell ahead of the spare tire. Unplug it and the problem should stop. Sometimes the sensor gets moisture in it and will work again after being thoroughly dried out. Other times it is beyond saving and you'll have to decide whether it's worth replacing or just leave it unplugged.
