Non Monsoon Upgrades Hey Guys
I dont have a monsoon system. I have just the standard stereo, and it has a bunch of blown speakers and Id like to upgrade a little when I replace them.
Ive read how the monsoon system has the 2 ohm speakers and its best to stay with that, but what about the non monsoons, are they also 2 Ohms.
Looking for some decent budget friendly speakers for clarity, a friend also reccomended getting a cheap amp and running it to the speakers, incase I ever decide to do a sub. If anything Id do a single 10" in a stealth box. I have no intentions of changing the Head unit.
Do you guys have any reccomendations on good speakers, amp or subs? Remeber I'm on a budget.

The base 4-speaker system is the easiest to upgrade because there is no signal filtering amp or odd impedance speakers. The door speakers are full-range 4-ohm 6.5" and the sail panel speakers are 6.5" 10-ohm "extended range" (GM's term not mine) but 4-ohm will work fine there.
On a budget, there is no point in adding an amp until you add a sub. Any good set of 6.5" speakers will work well running off the head unit. Go to your local audio shop and listen to some different speakers to get an idea what you like. Speaker preference is a personal thing so it's best to hear your options. For example, some people love Infinity speakers while others (like me) find them harsh ("make your ears bleed" is a common complaint).

ill give you an idea of where i went with my camaro, basically i have a b4c camaro that started off with a cassette and four shitty gm ac delco speakers, i replaced the radio with a alpine cda-105 radio. sounded decent, i had polk 6.5' and 4'in polk speakers from 02 firebird and swapped them in (had to cut out holes in the far hatch panels for the 4 inch) and i also bought brand new polk 650's for the rear seat sides. after i did all that and added a rockford 400 in the mix i basically have a VERY clean sounding system. ( also have 2 12" cvr's in the hatch) i literally can play rock to rap to techno to dubstep to country doent matter, it doesn distort and is a very budget friendly setup.
