Default Will a Touchscreen/Navi/DVD unit fit?

So I was at a local electronics store and they had a really slick looking DVD touch screen receiver, AND it was illuminated in Red and had a red themed menu and what not and I thought it would be a great fit in the Trans Am (its a 97 monsoon car btw)

The stereo was on sale for 229, its a Pioneer P2300dvd

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-bDUFpTS...-P2300DVD.html

Will it fit? is it anygood?

I really liked the look of it, and think it would match.

What I would like is for the receiver to have bluetooth (which will connect with my phone and allow me to use the stereo system as a phone if I get a call), work with my stock steering wheel buttons, have navigation (real GPS not the cell tower triangulation kind)

Any ideas? (keep in mind I dont know jack about stereos)

Thanks a bunch guys

The Pioneer P2300dvd doesn't have NAV.

I'm guessing you want to install it in your 1997 Trans Am? Yes, it will fit with some minor mods.

Here is my car (2001 Formula) with a Pioneer AVIC-D3. Its Double-Din (its also an older model).

You can make a new bezel like I did (pic above), modify your existing one, or buy a new one from a sponsor.

I've been wondering about the same HU, but I've been wanting to maybe try an Alpine that has the Imprint Technology.

Huh, I didn't notice that.

I think they are close. I'd have to look it up on Pioneer's website.

Not to mention that the photo was of my car anyway.

That's the Pioneer AVIC-D3 that VIP1 now has in his car. I replaced it with a Kenwood DNX-5120.

My buddy just put one in his 01 camaro... he modified the bezel and then wrapped it.. it looks slick as hell... I have pics on my phone of the process as he did it... Ill post them up if you want... theyre not what I would consider writeup material but it will give you a good idea of what can be done....

Funny you should ask that question... I just happen to have a link to a comparison I wrote at the time: https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...omparison.html.

Bear in mind that these are older models. There are newer/better models from Kenwood and Pioneer. to my knowledge, Kenwood still uses Garmin and Pioneer still uses Navteq.

Slightly OT, but this thing looks to be the SHIZZLE!

http://www.palmerperformance.com/pro...mand/index.php

I like the whole idea of a cheaper HU and relying on the phone/IPod to have all the cool features. ...and finally getting an OBDII interface into the HU display. Makes me almost want to get an IPod Touch. I will probably wait for Pioneer to make a better sound quality oriented HU for it, with 3 RCA outs and 4V. I really like the idea of putting the same cheaper HU in all 3 of my cars and moving an IPod between them.

It's similar to the evolving home theater market, the vendors keep trying to cram all these internet firmware features into TVs, BR players, and receivers when if you just build a home theater PC you can get buy with older cheaper components in your rack, it will do everything you want online or playing media, and do it better.
