Do his tweeter pods need to be cut out 1" for the type r component tweeters to fit? I think they come un-cut or with a 1 3/4 hole.

You have to cut them yourself.. It's easy though.. Just take your time, mesure twice and cut once lol... A great piece btw.. love my 6le pods

I used the kicker componet set in my Z28.. Didn't use the crossovers.. I let the monsoon amp take care of that.. They sound great.

Cool that sounds easy. Is there a certain hole cutting bit? Ive seen ones for wood that attach to the drill. I was also going to cut a hole in the sheet metal in the back seat for components as well. I'm having a difficult time finding the dimensions for the Alpine Tpe R tweeter with mounting cup.

Thanks guys! I thought the fit and finish would be a little nicer. Can sides be sanded at all? Also will the strip of foam that was there before still fit in the crack between the pod and door panel?

Just drill the hole to mount them lower than the ones in the pic...

Of course the finish isn't same as stock plastics, stock plastic is injection molded, these are thermal formed.

Injection molded I would have had to charge $300+ for the pair... Thermal form I charge $75 for the pair right now...

So in the screw hole area we can drill through the top portion instead of dead center and the pod will sit lower?

You just put the tweeter pod exactly where you want it, use a small drill bit to drill through the pod (where there is already a recession for the screw) into the metal then screw it on.

Oh okay i get it thank you. It doesn't use the factory screw or screw hole so you have the freedom to put it where you want it..
