Default Crossover locations and Signal Processors...

I'm wondering where it's allowable to mount a signal processor. Near the speaker? or will resistance be a factor if they're mounted on the amp rack out back?

And what is everyone running for signal processors? I was looking at an Audio Control Three.2 but it's a bit pricey and I'm still not sure where to mount it. The quality of my MP3's varies, so I'm constantly making adjustments.

typically keep them closer to your amp for easier wiring, but since they go in between your head unit and the amps in the signal chain, no need at all to keep them near the speakers. Just install them wherever they fit.

My Kenwood head unit has enough adjustability that the only processor I have is a AudioControl Epicenter(mounted under driver seat), for electronic crossovers I use the ones built into 2 Zapco amps and MMATS sub amp. The passive x-overs for my front door Diamond Audio components are mounted down below the armrests for the rear seats.

So there's no problem if I mount the crossovers in back. Good deal, because these Memphis ones are rather big.

And as far as signal processors go, I'm wondering how difficult it would be to set it up. I have a guy that can help me if need be. I can do all the wiring and take it to him to have him finish it.
