Headlights don't work!
Unfortunately, when I went to wire them up, they don't work right. The driver's side high beam won't light.
But when I turn on the lights, the high beam indicator on the dash stays on. It won't turn off. My mechanic and I think there might be a short (the previous owner, in his infinite wisdom, decided the best way to remove ABS would be to just cut all the wires that led to the pump and leave the exposed ends sticking out of the wiring harness), so we're going to go digging through the wires to try to figure out where it is.Does anybody have a diagram of the parts of the wiring harness that are for the headlamps?
1. with the relay attached to only one stock plug for the signal (stock plug > relay > ballast > bulb). If I did that, only one side would work.
2. with the relay attached to both stock plugs for the signal (both stock plugs > relay > ballast > bulb). If i did that, the high beam indicator is stuck on, and all the lights come on except DS high beam.
3. without the relay (stock plug > ballast > bulb). same issue as with the relay attached to both stock plugs for the signal.
it looks like I have to have the relay attached to both stock plugs for the signal, or go without the relay entirely, and just connect directly to the ballast. but with everything hooked up, the driver's side high beam won't light.
Did you find a solution? Also what relays are talking about.
I ended up using some old halogens for now.
Shoulda got some better ones.
I got some relays from eBay, "Xenon HID Conversion Relay Wiring Harness," one for the high beams, and one for the low beams.
