turn signal stick
I had lost my keys and to be safe I had a key guy make me new keys with a new tooth pattern. Ever since then every time i push the lever up to indicate that i am turning left, the light turns off as soon as i move the wheel left and it doesnt give that indicating "click" noise that lets you know you turned the wheel far enough that the light will automatically goes off after you finish the turn. So basically i have to keep my hand on the lever to keep it up while i turn left or it wont stay on.
Any ideas as to what can cause this and how to fix it? I know the car is in alingment and that isnt the problem. A friend of mine told me to check that but that didnt fix it.
The behavior you are describing is strange - you may have multiple things messed up.
Do you hear a click when you press the stalk before you turn the wheel? If so, you probably just have broken turn signal canceling springs as pictured in step 20. You can get new ones for $1.99 in the Dorman/Help! section of any parts store. (The springs make the second click that cancels the turn signal, when the bumps on the cam in step 17 pass by them.)
If you aren't getting that first click, then there is probably a larger issue with the big white part depicted in step 19.
