Questions Regarding Amp/Sub
Any suggestions to power 2 150rms 2ohm subs?
Try to get a two channel class D that runs 150W RMS x 2 @ 2 Ohm. I would not get a monoblock to drive the midbass, as they can reach freqs up to 300 Hz depending on how you set up your crossovers, which some may perceive as directional. Plus this two channel solution is more cost effective for what you're doing and simpler to wire up.
Would that work? I have a buddy that has one for sale, but wasnt sure if it was what i needed
The Kicker amp will be fine, just set it for LPF (100Hz) or turn the filtering off. Or if you want to send those subs a larger range, get the RE. Both will work, one just gives you more flexibility. That's all I'm trying to tell you.
Smaller diameter cones typically won't do freqs below 100 Hz nearly as well as larger diameter cones, and your smaller subs would probably excel in the 100-300 Hz range, where a 10" or 12" would do better below 100 Hz. So, if you want to be picky, an LPF setting that goes higher than 100 Hz may be beneficial for your application. Smaller cones can rival larger cones in sub-bass performance if they have a higher excursion (throw range) but typically shallow mounts aren't made for high excursion.
