so confused with this bose system

so confused with this bose system I've been trying to do my research but just really not quite understanding it all and not finding all the answers i need. I could use some help please! I have a 93 Z with the 3 speaker Bose set up. The right amp went back and it seems pointless to spend X amount of dollars just get back to factory sound.
I was thinking of doing this
front doors: SPR-60 coaxial 6.5 inch
100 watt RMS
300 peak
powered by
(1) MRP-f300
bridged 150 watt rms x 2
head unit would be Sony DSX-S210X
has sub pre out and 6 channel preout
I will probably do a 10 inch sub later and maybe add 2 SPR-60 to the rear passenger speakers since there aren't any there.
Question 1:
If I wanted to do just the front door speakers for now, do I need to scrap the back hatch "speaker/sub"? Couldn't the amp for the speakers just go to the pre-outs and the back speaker would just be hooked up to the converter used when putting in the new head unit?
Question 2: I've been told before that when you start to use external amps other than the OEM Bose amps you need to rewire the whole system. True or false?
