Default Trunk release switch. Help please

Alright, I've been searching through these forums and I've been having a hard time understanding some of the fixes.

So basically the switch stopped working and well I sort of need it to open my trunk because I covered up my keyhole. I can squeeze back and reach the bolts to take off the berger panel but its a PITA. I checked my fuses and they're good and everything else works, aftermarket radio, all the power accesories. Could it be the solenoid or some sort of chip? Please chime in, I would like to fix this asap

The switch is not very robust and its really common that it will go bad. If you unplug the switch and jump the two wires, the hatch should pop for you and you can just get a new switch.

Does your remote work for popping the hatch? It should also.
