Does anyone know... Does anyone know what will happen if you connect the two wires inside the yellow airbag wire in the steering column? I have an afteemarket wheel on my 2001 camaro ss and I want to turn the stupid airbag light off. On my old 1998 z28, you could just ground the wire for the airbag and no more light. But on my 2001, there is two wires. I don't want to mess with the clustee. I have seen the resistor stuff but has anyone tried just connecting the two wires together??
You'll get an airbag light. The airbag module looks for a certain resistance in the bag circuit. On mine, it's between 1.4 and 3 ohms. So a short would be zero, hence the light on.
